A bold step taken in 1959, when it was difficult to import plastic raw materials, let alone produce them, created the industry's pioneers, Ege Yıldız and Egeplast. The entrepreneurship of the late Mazhar Zorlu, a doyen businessman who started his business life with contracting services and carried out many important projects in and around Izmir such as Piyale Factory and Variant Road, played a major role.
Mazhar Zorlu, who first entered the plastic industry with the production of medicine tubes and kitchen utensils, founded Ege Yılız Plastic Marketing and Industry Joint Stock Company in 1959 to produce plastic pipes, fittings and by-products.
In 1973, as a result of the need for modernization and technology, a new structuring was carried out and Egeplast was established. While Egeplast A.Ş. carried out the production, Ege Yıldız undertook domestic sales and marketing activities through dealer distribution and project remainders, as it does today.
Egeplast, which constantly invests and went public in 1996, has always been a pioneer with its 85 thousand tons of plastic processing capacity per year and the most advanced technology it uses. It has reached a wide range of products, from small plastic diameters used in buildings to large diameters used in infrastructure, especially in clean water distribution, sewerage, telecommunications, natural gas, drainage, infrastructure and similar areas. While doing this, it broke many firsts in the sector.
Combining its 64 years of experience with the principle of not compromising on quality, Egeplast was proud to win Capital and Ekonomist magazines and Türkiye Finans Katılım Bankası's Anatolian Brands awards 4 times, in 2005-2007-2011 and 2013.
Today, Egeplast continues its production in its giant factory of 80 thousand square meters, of which 55 thousand square meters is a closed area, in Izmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone.. presentation
